Tianjin University research on indexing cam mechanism , supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China ; research and development of two parallel indexing cam mechanism has reached domestic leading level. In addition, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Dalian Institute of Light Industry , Hefei University and Shandong University ( Shandong University ) and other applications in the study of the theory have made a lot of research with international or domestic advanced level .

　　Although China on cam and groove coupling applications and research institutions also have years of history , the study of cam and groove coupling mechanism design, sports law , contours , dynamics , optimal design and other aspects have made a lot of scientific research. However , compared with developed countries, China for the design and manufacture of cam and groove coupling bodies are still large gaps , especially in manufacturing. In foreign core technology is only concentrated in a handful of companies and research institutions , but due to technical factors such as confidentiality , information has a certain reference value rarely published. This virtually restricts design and improve manufacturing standards of cam mechanism , resulting in high-speed , high-precision cam and groove coupling mechanism must rely on imports passive situation.
