WELL POINT:

a well point is a pipe with openings large enough to allow water to ,enter

and small enough to keep the water-bearing formation in place. well point

suitable for hand driving are available in sizes  from 1-1/4 to 2 inches in diamater

and from 18 to 60 inches long, the size of openings in the well point is determined

by the relative grain size of the material in the water-bearing formation, some of the

first grains adjacent to the wellpoint should be removed by pumping to make the well

more productive.
